Brace Yourself for Fringe 5 — Coming June 2016

Hey friends,

It’s been a while since I posted an update, so I thought I’d check in to let you know how things have been cooking on book five of The Fringe.

Tons of you have been emailing and Facebooking me asking when the Fringe finale will be released, and I’ve been pretty vague because I honestly had no clue. I’ve had a lot going on the past month: I got a puppy, I’ve been shopping for a house in Colorado Springs, and I’ve been cleaning out a bunch of stuff I’ve had in storage since high school to prepare for my move this summer.

As most of you know, I don’t like to rush through the editing process because I always want the book to be the best it can be. Since this is the last in the series, I want to make sure I tie up all the loose ends and create satisfactory endings for all the characters we love so much.

I’ve had a lot of tough decisions to make, but I’ve tried to take a backseat to the characters and let them determine their fates.

I don’t want to give away too much about book five, but I’ll give you the same cryptic hints that I shared with my newsletter subscribers.

***Caution: Lockdown spoilers ahead!***

  • Owen is being held by Constance, and Celdon is having a crisis of conscience.
  • Sage and Jackson have joined Team Eli/Harper, but not everyone is in agreement on how things should be done.
  • The virus will claim more innocent lives, and Harper will have to decide whether to stand by the man she loves or venture on to find a cure.
  • Sawyer will have to make a tough choice that will determine whether or not she gets to see her parents again.
  • Robin and Gunner will reappear for the finale.
  • A compound leader will step up as an unlikely good guy. But is it too little too late?
  • The silent war between Recon and the drifters will come to a head, and nothing will ever be the same again.

Fringe five is all about choice and redemption, with some characters making the right choices and some making the wrong ones. I’m very excited for you to read it.

Based on my current progress and my editor’s timeline, the book should be available for digital download sometime in June. If you haven’t joined my mailing list yet, make sure you do so. List members are the FIRST to get exciting updates on book releases and access to special promos and reader extras. I promise you’ll love it.

  1. Just reread them all for the third time! Shouldn’t have done that yet since now I’m about to pull my hair out, anxious for the grand finale and still have to wait. 😩 Your books are now officially my 4 most read books. All I can think through every single page is “my gosh! I gotta see this movie!”. This series and the “Until the End” series are without a doubt the best characters ever created. The way you get into so many characters’ heads connecting their sides of the story and yet every single one of them has such distinct and fully developed personalities is amazing! It’s a talent rarely found in even some of the best authors. So many times different characters blend together or are inconsistent but it’s almost like you really knew your characters personally they were so well written. Anyways, still crazy about this series and excited the wait is almost over!! Thanks again for this amazing story 💗

Btw, I am on your mailing list but I did not get a notification email on this latest post. Just wanted to let you know in case something is messed up on it???

    1. Thanks, Destiny! You’re so sweet. It’s awesome that you reread the series again…So did I recently, and I do that with all my favorite series. I’m also glad to hear you say that all the characters seem distinct to you. My boyfriend thinks they all sound like me, but I reminded him he probably thinks that because he hears me talk all day. Ha! At least I hope they sound like different people…

Thanks for the heads up on the email notification. I actually didn’t send out an email about this post since I already sent out those teasers, but I will be sending out a sneak peek with an official release date to my mailing list soon!

      Keep on reading! – T

  2. Ok… I read the defectors trilogy in 4 days, then I was busy with my own book, still in progress. So on Monday, I grabbed the fringe first story and yet again, I was hooked!
Thank you Tarah, for this week’s insomnia! I just actually finished the 4th book about 15 minutes ago, and I’m dying for more! So, thankfully, I won’t have to wait long!

You are an inspirational writer, and you keep your readers on the edge of our seats!
What am I going to do until June?

    1. Thanks so much! I’m glad you liked The Defectors. Book one was the first book I ever published, and as a writer, I can’t deny that it has it’s problems. Still, the book has a special place in my heart, so it’s good to know that people still enjoy it. Hang tight on Fringe 5! I’ve been busting my butt to get it ready!

Thanks for all your support! I really appreciate it. 🙂
